Created as a collaboration with a friend, Laters Taters began with an original MondoMagna geometric design. Rows of charcoal-grey elliptical shapes contract towards the centre to create a bold optical effect, surrounded by a contrasting border of tiny dots.
Sweeping diagonally across this carefully ordered pattern is the wonderfully unserious “Laters Taters” lettering in brilliant orange-red — deliberately disrupting the monochrome geometry beneath it.
The same vivid colour appears again as a fine outer edge, giving the otherwise restrained palette an unexpected flash of colour.
Light and softly translucent, the silk chiffon changes the graphic effect as it is folded and tied, breaking the slogan and geometric pattern into abstract fragments.
