A striking pure silk pocket square featuring an ancient oak tree in dramatic black and white against rich shades of turquoise and deep blue.
The design began with a painting of a magnificent old oak standing in the grounds of Montacute House in Somerset. Its twisting branches, broad trunk and exposed roots have been rendered in expressive monochrome, contrasting with the vivid turquoise woodland and intense blue landscape behind it.
The combination of traditional landscape drawing and unexpected colour gives this pocket square a distinctive contemporary character — particularly beautiful when folded, when fragments of branches, turquoise woodland and graphic black-and-white linework appear from the pocket.
Printed on pure silk and finished with a hand-rolled and hand-stitched hem.
