Two very serious Staffordshire dogs on a gloriously unserious fuchsia-pink background.
This colourful MondoMagna cotton tea towel features a hand-drawn pair of traditional Staffordshire pottery dogs, reimagined in deep blue and antique white against brilliant fuchsia pink, with a contrasting charcoal-grey border.
The dogs retain the wonderfully peculiar character of the original ceramic figures — solemn expressions, decorative chains, rosy noses and all — while the loose drawn lines and unexpected colour give them a much more contemporary personality.
Rather than making a faithful reproduction of antique Staffordshire pottery, the original drawing uses the figures as a starting point for something bolder, brighter and unmistakably MondoMagna.
A distinctive kitchen textile for lovers of Staffordshire pottery, British design, dogs, colour — or simply objects with a little character.
