Abstract Forest Pure Silk Scarf – Pink Blue Somerset Landscape Wearable Art

A bold pure silk scarf developed from my painting of trees in the Somerset countryside, transformed through vivid colour, pattern and abstraction.

The original woodland forms are still there — trunks, branches and the suggestion of a forest floor — but they have been loosened and partially obscured until the landscape becomes an expressive composition of sweeping lines and overlapping colour.

Layers of pink, raspberry and deep plum are interrupted by brilliant yellow polka dots and unexpected flashes of electric blue and black. The contrast between painterly marks and crisp graphic pattern gives the design its energy, allowing the original forest to appear and disappear across the surface of the silk.

At 90cm square, the design becomes more abstract still when folded and worn. Fragments of branches, brilliant colour and spotted pattern come together in constantly changing combinations.
Printed on pure silk and finished with a contrasting black hand-rolled and hand-stitched hem.
