A delicate silk chiffon scarf created from an original drawing of porcelain and decorative objects in the Victoria and Albert Museum.
MondoMagna Muse Orange Pink transforms a museum display into a layered composition of fine hand-drawn lines, fragments of figures, ceramics and ornament.
Rather than presenting the objects individually, they overlap and tumble across the scarf, interspersed with circles and areas of polka dot pattern. Faces, birds and elaborate pieces of porcelain appear and disappear amongst the layers, giving the design an almost collage-like quality.
The warm palette of antique white, soft pink, orange and ochre gives the intricate drawing an unexpectedly contemporary character while retaining something of the delicacy of the original museum objects.
Printed on lightly translucent silk chiffon, the fine lines and overlapping colours become softer still when the scarf is folded and draped, revealing different fragments of the design each time it is worn.
