Stourhead is a striking silk pocket square developed from an original drawing of a fallen tree at Stourhead in Wiltshire, England.
The natural form of the tree has been transformed and partially obscured with contrasting areas of polka dots and small geometric motifs, creating a richly layered, almost collage-like design.
Sweeping painterly marks in vivid orange, magenta and pink are set against deep brown and black, giving the pocket square warmth and intensity while the unexpected mixture of pattern and drawing makes every section of the design slightly different.
When folded into a jacket pocket, only fragments of the original image are revealed — flashes of colour, spots, miniature motifs and expressive brushwork — so the design takes on a new character depending on how it is worn.
Printed on pure silk and finished with hand-rolled and hand-stitched hems.
