A striking blue silk chiffon scarf where extravagant 17th-century tulips meet bold contemporary colour.
The MondoMagna Tula Blue scarf is covered with oversized tulip blooms in luminous shades of turquoise, cobalt and deep navy, set against an intricate geometric pattern with tiny flashes of green.
The tulips were drawn from 17th-century botanical engravings, preserving the wonderfully extravagant shapes and curling petals of the original flowers. There is nothing 17th century about our use of colour though. Saturated blues transform the historic botanical imagery into a bold contemporary print.
The combination of soft, painterly flowers and the crisp geometric structure beneath them gives the design its distinctive character. A deep navy border frames the composition, finished with a narrow contrasting edge.
Printed on 100% natural silk chiffon, the translucent fabric gives the different shades of blue a beautiful lightness when the scarf is folded, tied or draped.
Wear it with white for a fresh burst of colour, with denim for an almost tonal combination, or against navy and black when you want the turquoise flowers to really sing.
